*NEW CAGC SC Trade Certification Card (formerly the Municipal Association Trade Certification Card)*
The CAGC SC Trade Certification card, formerly the Municipal Association Trade Certification card, is confirmation that a cardholder has satisfied the experience and written examination qualifications required by the Foundation to hold the level of certification indicated. Continuing Education Requirements for License Renewal
The NC Licensing Board for General Contractors requires 8 hours of continuing education to be completed annually in order to renew a license. At least one qualifier for licensees in the license classifications of Building, Residential and Unclassified must complete the 8 hours of CE. For the Unclassified license, it must be the qualifier who has passed the building examination. The 8-hour course requirement includes a mandatory 2-hour course taught by instructors certified to teach this course. The remaining 6 hours will be elective courses produced by Board approved providers.
