The CAGC High School Chapter is already making an impact!
After our needs were highlighted in the latest CAGC Foundation newsletter, Hodgin Construction generously donated 15 sheets of plywood to support our program. This partnership is a wonderful example of how CAGC connects students and educators with industry support and resources that make hands-on learning possible.

Student Spotlight: Real Conversations. Real Career Pathways.

One of the most powerful aspects of CAGC High School Chapters is direct access to industry professionals who are living out successful careers in construction. Recently, students in Fort Mill Schools had the opportunity to hear from Emily Ellis of Holt Brothers Construction, a CAGC member company. Through a featured interview and classroom discussion, Emily shared her career journey, advice for young professionals, and insight into the many pathways available within commercial construction.

Students asked thoughtful questions about career preparation, leadership, and what it takes to thrive in today’s industry. The conversation highlighted exactly what High School Chapters are designed to do: connect students with real people, real stories, and real opportunities in construction. As one educator shared after the session: “Thank you again, Emily, for being so generous with your experience and advice. The students’ sincere curiosity was shining through.” The interview is now featured on the school’s Business program website, extending the reach of this career exploration opportunity to even more students. Interview can be viewed here.

Through partnerships like this, CAGC High School Chapters are helping students see construction not just as a job, but as a dynamic, rewarding career path with opportunities for leadership, innovation, and long-term success.
